Sustained change in this country has never happened without the mobilization of average citizens, changes in the attitudes that maintain the statues quo, improvement in public policies, and a social net that catches people when elderly homelessthey need help. Community Shares of Texas (CSTX) is a statewide network of social justice organizations that are working to bring a sustained change right here in Texas. Our social justice affiliates are empowering Texans and providing a voice to the voiceless. CSTX is serious about the need to make these changes in our society that is why we recruit some of the most forward thinking social justice affiliates who are committed to helping those who need it most. |

|  Our job at Community Shares of Texas is to gain access for our charities to public employee charity campaigns. What is a Public Employee Charity Campaign? Public employee charity campaigns are designed as a vetting tool to provide employees and charities an avenue to connect with each other. The public employees in turn may contribute to charities via a payroll contribution program and hese campaigns exist on the local, state and federal level. Over time the application/vetting process has evolved into a very cumbersome, confusing, tedious and time consuming process.
Unlike many of the more well known, better financed and more popular charities in Texas, Community Shares of Texas (CSTX) has to work a little harder to gain access for our charities to these campaigns. That's why CSTX provides our member affiliates the ability to combine under one social justice federation banner and we apply for all them as a block. This is the service of applying as a federation so we can do the work of gaining access to these campaigns while our charities concentrate on delivering the programs and services their constituencies need.
Charities under the CSTX federation banner meet specific criteria that ensures meet a mission of providing a voice to the voiceless, serve the disadvantaged populations, advocate and educated to affect change in Texas. CSTX’s member agencies are on the firing lines, experiencing the untold, sometimes tragic stories of the disadvantaged Texas populations. As a Texan, I am deeply grateful for the unrelenting efforts and determination our member charities go through to make a difference !
